Check out bagworm moth caterpillars. Different sorts of bagworms make different style "cases" and while i can't say for sure that this one hasn't been doctored or hoaxed in some way, there are enough pictures out there that look similar enough that i assume the one in the above picture is just a particularly amazing specimen.
Ah. Yeah we have bagworm moths where I live too but nothing quite as spectacular as the ones you've shared. The twigs are a lot more haphazardly stuck into the bag for the ones I usually see, like in the example below:
Oh that's still really neat! I've seen pictures of ones that make the vertical/parallel stick structures but not that exact kind. Apparently we have a similar kind around here too but I've never come across one. I think bagworm caterpillars and gall wasps are neck and neck for most interesting insect for me right now.
