Saks Fifth Avenue in S.F.’s Union Square switches to ‘appointment only’ shopping, announces layoffs

I feel like this is a way to refuse entry to people they feel like "dont belong there" like potential shoplifters and homeless people. I wonder how scrutinizing the appointment process will be or if you can just use a throwaway email and schedule something 5 minutes prior to arrival.
