I've never understood the appeal of Prime day nor found any "deals" worth spending money on. Just seems like it's all clearance junk with an extra helping of human misery for the warehouse workers.
Seems like the best deal are on clearing inventory of Echo devices, which is a bit strange given recent moves to monetize those. Even worse for them, my first generation hockey puck is doing well
I second this. The prime day, cyber monday etc deals used to be amazing. Now they just hike prices up for a month before and then offer you regular price as a "sale". It's been years since I've seen a legit discount and now I avoid these events entirely. Amazon has lost everyone's trust and rightfully so.
I don't think I really used Amazon much back when they had legit deals, but I will take your word on it.
The last few times I've checked over the years, it's been like it is now. Basically gamifying the experience with the countdown timer and the "this deal won't last!" temptations on stuff that seems like it wouldn't sell well on a normal day.
A friend of mine waited for prime day to see if there were any deals on stuff they wanted. On prime day the price went up 20%. Couldn’t believe it. What a racket.
before you buy something there, ask yourself: is this really worth forcing a poor warehouse worker pee in a bottle? you as a consumer have more power than the ceo of the company, use it!
I've tried shopping on prime day a couple of times over the years. Everything I got was exclusively the worst junk I have ever owned. Broke easily, terrible mattery life, cheaply made, etc.
