This reported closure comes on the heels of stores like Nike, North Face and Lululemon pulling out of the downtown area.

If you look at what I've posted previously, you can see I post more center-left content that anything else. There have been several stores shuttered recently in downtown and Saks is just the latest.
If this same question had been posed from the Seattle Times, what would your answer have been?
My vote is it's easier for people to buy online without the hassle for going to a brick and mortar store, but I could be mistaken.
I think there's a number of things in play. The fact that there's a large number of addicts hanging out between Westlake and Pike Place makes it not a super fun place to go. This mall also tried to go for the high end stores and there wasn't as much mid tier stores and businesses (IMO) which attracts a larger base of people.
