Walking through China’s cities, you will quickly notice the absence of large slums or pervasive homelessness common to the rest of the world
It's because the evil authoritarian government in China hides all the poor and homeless people inside houses to fool Western tourists 😭
Damn commies preventing homelessness and helping people own housing.
We need to have homeless people dying of drug overdoses like a real free country.
How else would you threaten the working class with homelessness? Free countries understand that, not like those darn commies.
I'd have to go back and watch it to be sure, but I remember a lecture on Social With Chinese Characteristics that mentioned looking back on their history and drawing from from ancient/dynastic literature that wished for prosperity for common people (then the peasants) and that was the sign that the country and ruler was good.
So SWCC was synthesized with this part of Ancient China and the result today seems that part of the historical identity of modern China is about striving for prosperity for your fellow workers.
