I didn't know Roman Numerals had a zero. I also thought 4 was supposed to be IV, not IIII.
Anyways... turns the sundial, so nobody knows what time it is...
So about the IIII, this is supposedly called the clockmakers 4 and has been a age old practice.
Now that 0, there is indeed no Roman numeral zero. However it was not uncommon on sundials to mark “noon” with a decorative element, like a circle.
This looks like a modern recreation though.
and why even use a zero on a clock in the first place?
