While ambitious urban planners try to make 15-minute cities a reality, the Nordhavn district of Copenhagen has gone one better. What’s life like when everything you need is just a stroll away?
How hard is it for an American family with two “desirable” skill sets (we’re both software engineers) to emigrate to Denmark? Asking, uh.. for a friend.
That depends, if you are nice white people, then you might well be welcome, while my Brazilian wife with a post doc and experience in renewable power grids can’t get a job interview to save her life, despite those being in demand skills. My fellow Danes are racist as fuck.
I'm sorry to say, but if you're not an EU citizen it's quite hard actually. Denmark has super strict immigration laws, unfortunately. But if you get a job in Denmark, you can have them help you apply for a work visa. Once you have the visa, the actual practicalities of living in Denmark are not too difficult, although there will definitely be some obstacles on your way.
