If they are gonna burn religious books, why not include more of them? Burn bibles, qurans, vedas, tanakhs, etc. Make the event more inclusive :)
Ostensibly, the reason is to protest islam specifically, IIRC. (or to be assholes. They could be just assholes. I haven't been paying too much attention.)
either way, burning everything else doesn't make sense. Especially when most people are going to be like "oh. Okay. whatever, dick."
