What happened to Pez?

It seems like Funko pops shouldn't have stood a chance in a space so thoroughly saturated with collectible plastic characters from any franchise imaginable. And there was candy involved.

If only the candy wasn't bad
- I recently had some pez for the first time in like 20 years. The candy was better when I was a kid. I can still remember the grape and strawberry flavors, and the modern ones are shit.
  
  I just tried some pez the other day that someone gave me for Christmas, the "grape" flavor tastes like sunscreen.
  
  I think the novelty of each piece of candy coming out of a character's neck made it taste better 🤣 the only flavor I actually remember is a cola flavored one. I remember trying the regular ones a while back and hating it
- And the dispensers didn't constantly jam
- I liked how pez tasted back in the day at least
- I was just thinking there should be Pez compatible mints.
  
  I actually don't hate the candy. Technically easier without the dispenser though,lol.
- If you've got a knife you can cut Necco wafers down to size to improve the taste.
  
  I just had my first necco wafers which reminded me of how much I hate pez lol. They were recommended when a coworker caught me snacking on satellite wafers. The clove flavor was an acquired taste but the citrus ones are a hard no.
  
  My suggestion to use Necco wafers was, unfortunately, in jest. They certainly have their appeal but they're absolutely an acquired taste.
