So this is a thing that has happened before and by definition isn’t “defying history”?
Why are they starting the clock at 1836? Does it sound less impressive to say that 2 sitting Vice Presidents have won an election? For that matter, why don’t they start it at 1988 and say no vice president has been elected in 46 years? Is that also not impressive enough?

- Honestly it just sounds like a condemnation of her campaign. "Sitting vice presidents rarely win and the one recent time one did it was the former CIA head who failed up his entire career."

  I mean, Bush Sr presidency saw the most success USA had since WW2, not only the only war they won since WW2 and still counting and they managed to coup and plunder quarter of the world belonging to their most hated enemies. Which ensured their global hegemony for the next over 3 decades.
