I started my social service this semester which is something that all people that study in university in México must do in order to graduate, im working in a scientific article about permaculture which has been pretty interesting.

Its pretty fucking wild. People are getting fired from their jobs/getting arrested for for standing up for Palenstinians' right to exist and meanwhile you have these chucklefucks doing Nazi salutes and the worse that happens is that some libs do some pearl clutching for a couple days before moving on.
Some of those same libs gleefully calling ICE on someone they think voted trump.
It's so damming how much mileage the "but some mexicans voted for Trump tho" narrative is getting. Not one time have I seen it applied to white men and white women who actually did overwhelmingly vote for that ass wipe
When white supremacy is the default and whitness is the default, the onus ends up on poc to be held up to standards they themselves don't stand up to. I'm seeing a narrative that since the immigrants are "hyper religious" they may be swayed to the repubs permanently and the pro immigration gamble of the democrats was their roll of the dice for the demographic changes they concerned with. Huh

Back in 2015, when the 2016 election was all the news, my Catholic grandparents from 🇹🇹 said "I definitely don't like Trump; I hope another Republican becomes the nominee," but when Trump became the nominee, they started going full-on MAGA and became the biggest simps for him.
I haven't talked to them in a long time, but I wouldn't be shocked if they're giving these salutes a slide.
Like many other religious Republicans, they're convinced that Trump is some majorly holy dude who's staunchly in alignment with their Christian ideals.
Yeah it's wild, some of my family members in the US are very religious and they're also full-on MAGA. But all my other family outside the US is Catholic and doesn't rock with Trump, largely for moral and religious reasons (many of these people are reactionaries, too, so even despite their reactionary ideology they still don't like Trump mostly because they perceive him as not aligned with their values)
They always give each other the benefit of the doubt, even when there's no doubts to be had.
