Be My Eyes is an app that connects people who are blind or have low vision with a sighted volunteer to provide assistance. This can involve helping to locate an item or providing feedback on an outfit. The app now has a new feature that leverages AI to provide a similar level of feedback. I am a volunteer on this app and had a positive experience helping someone find the Post Office in a shopping complex. I recommend checking it out.

One of the reasons I left Reddit and jumped to Lemmy is because Reddit doesn’t care about accessibility. This post should serve as motivation for Lemmy and the Fediverse to do better. How can we make the experience accessible to a wide range of users?
