[Question] For which show do you never skip the opening?
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (80s)

  • Which is your favorite app icon for Voyager?
  • I like the default one because it reminds me of Netscape and I'm a nostalgic old person

  • 45 years ago CompuServe connected the world before the World Wide Web
  • Yeah man, you're speaking my language. Back when seeing someone as "online" generally meant they were deliberately there, not just that their phone was on

  • What is a small gadget under $10-20 that you absolutely LOVE?
  • I don't know man, the kachonk is a valuable part of the experience for me, great tactile feedback

  • Yet another one of China's elite has disappeared after criticizing Xi Jinping
  • This was literally my first thought on seeing this

  • The winner of every difficulty comparison
  • Are you thinking of that one small gap where you have to just walk over it without jumping, and trying to jump makes you fall?

  • Official poster for "The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim"
  • Honestly, I'm kind of excited for it to not just look like the live action films or well-known artwork got converted to animation. I love LOTR and I love the films and other interpretive works we have but I'm definitely interested in a fresh take. Hoping this is good.

  • A Look At The Small Web, Part 1
  • I'm so glad to be seeing small and indie web stuff so often lately. I never played with gopher and Gemini. Today might be the day.

  • What movie did you watch as I kid which you shouldn't have?
  • Oh man, my oldest brother put this on when our parents were out and all I remember is being terrified of the eyeball in the guy's palm at some point. Probably my first experience with body horror.

  • What smell do you love that you’re not supposed to love?
  • The first time a heater turns on for the year

  • "In a fix, in a bind, call on us anytime!" (MacDraw II)
  • Thank you! It's a lot of fun to use this old software and to see how people can still appreciate what it produces despite being ~35 years obsolete.

  • "In a fix, in a bind, call on us anytime!" (MacDraw II)

The Rescuers wasn't exactly one of my favorites growing up, but it still made it into my rotation from time to time. It cracks me up how into the performance these two get at this part of the Rescue Aid Society song. Go get em, Latvia and France!

  • Beautiful. I've stalked through your history for some of your other art shares after recognizing your name a couple times here, love your stuff!

  • "Seam the Seapkeeper" (MacDraw II)
  • Right? Can't wait to get more answers and even more questions. Wonder what the next world's theme will be. T.V.?

  • Miles Morales
  • Awesome! Love your work man

  • Spectre Inspector
  • Love the color choices. Looks great, very otherworldly

  • "Seam the Seapkeeper" (MacDraw II)

Seam (pronounced "Shawm") is my favorite Deltarune character. Everything about him, from his design to his dialogue to his lore, tells you that this old stuffed cat has been through some things. Despite clearly having come out the worse for wear from his experiences, he maintains a sense of positivity - almost a gleeful nihilism. I always got the impression that he actually cares a bit more than he lets on.

I just could not figure out what to do with his mouth to make it not look quite so flat. Overall, this one was a lot tougher than I thought it'd be.

"Greetings from your friendly neighborhood tax-collector!" (MacDraw II)
  • I'm using Mini vMac, a great little old Macintosh emulator. https://www.gryphel.com/c/minivmac/

I started out just getting my nostalgia fix, then realized I still really enjoy using MacDraw just like when I was a kid so I've kept going back to it whenever I get the itch to draw something.

  • "Greetings from your friendly neighborhood tax-collector!" (MacDraw II)
  • I love[d] Pogo's stuff!

Edit: I'm getting really tired of having to try and separate so many artists from their art. Good grief. Kudos to all the artists out there that manage to be generally decent toward their fellow humans, it's sincerely appreciated.

  • Curse that demonic dorito! Love the humanoid (or possession victim?) take, and the lighting effect on the hair is awesome. Also love the garment wrinkle, it's such an interesting thing to see how something that might be considered imperfections (like wrinkles) can make a drawing look better. My firstborn is real good at that kind of thing in their art as well and I hope to one day be able to pull it off when I make my attempts at original content.

  • "Greetings from your friendly neighborhood tax-collector!" (MacDraw II)
  • Whoa, I'm going to have to look into that! I've never actually done a deep dive into any of the program's features beyond the basic stuff. I did learn earlier today while putting together a rough animation of my Vivi picture that there's a rotate tool, which I was relieved to discover. Great for those times when something just seems slightly off-angle and it would be annoying to adjust every point manually to fix it. (I used it on the Sheriff's nose for this drawing.)

  • "Greetings from your friendly neighborhood tax-collector!" (MacDraw II)

The Sheriff of Nottingham was that character I loved to hate. He could be so sleazy and it was hilarious watching all the townsfolk react when he'd show up pretending to be likeable. His design and voice acting made him one of my favorite characters in the movie.

    "Vivi" (MacDraw II)

The character Vivi from Final Fantasy IX, tied with Steiner as my favorites in that game (so cool that they can combo attack together!). Hands are hard, but I'm proud of the "shading" on the knobbly staff! I also think the thicker 2pt lines look better than the 1pt lines I've been using in the past.

As per usual while I'm still in this learning stage, I used a reference image.

    "Tracer Bullet" (MacDraw II)

My attempt to use MacDraw II to draw (copycat) the popular image of Calvin's "Tracer Bullet" alter-ego from Calvin & Hobbes. I wanted some practice with the neat shadow technique.
