  • I agree kind of :) They're absolutely not a replacement for actual research, but I think videos like these can inspire interesting questions which encourage further reading. Most people as well probably aren't willing to critically and factually research a given subject, so well structured and fact based debates I think could be helpful for helping inform a wider audience maybe

  • Wasn't Destiny worthy of the debate when Finkelstein accepted the debate? I really don't understand. Why are we talking about worthiness.

I'm not able to check the example you sent yet (Thank you, btw!!) but if you'll allow me to extrapolate, I feel like "Just Google it" means "This statement I made is correct, and is easily provable with a quick search". If he didn't cite anything, that would be kind of weird I think. I think it would depend. If I forget to come back to this I'll cry in real life

  • Hey you're being kind of mean towards me. I haven't said anything about the conflict in this entire thread. I don't think I even said anything about Destiny being correct. Do you think I'm in favour of Destiny's arguments because I think he was the better debater?

  • Isn't this kind of mean towards people with restrictive, fixated interests in AI generation? I'd probably feel really sad if this was my restrictive interest and 'my people' made me feel really guilty about it

  • I'm very curious to know why you consider NATO a fascist organisation. I don't mean to be facetious but I get the feeling you might have impossible standards.

Obviously that person doesn't support fascism though. I don't quite understand your criteria for labeling someone as a fascist or fascist supporter

  • Jesus. Under the Biden administration, we clearly saw at least occasional urges to limit civilian harm, pauses on weapon shipments, and promotion of humanitarian aid (For example, Biden's pledge of $100m in humanitarian aid for Gaza and the West Bank). Furthermore, Biden also talked about his push for a two state solution. Do you wholeheartedly believe Trump's 2020 Israel-Palestine plan is the same as Biden's? That both would lead to the same amount of killing and destruction? Lastly, does everyone forget that while the Biden administration may have abstained from voting for the UN resolution 'Assistance to Palestinian Refugees', which includes the affirmation for Palestinian 'Right of return', the Trump administration has always voted against these resolutions. Trump is still adamant on denying Palestinian right of return. I haven't even begun to talk about Trump's cuts to UNRWA.

You were obviously getting genocide lite with Biden. Obviously, the democrats are much more reasonable than Trump. Have you seen anything Trump has been doing since he became president? Have you seen his handling of Ukraine? Do you really, truly believe both sides are the same? They're not. You're so full of rhetoric.

You push people away from Lemmy, the left, and the affirmation of Palestinian rights by being this unhinged by the way. I stated the obvious both sides are not the same, and the Palestinain's would be better off with anyone but Trump as president. This doesn't mean whatever you said in your reply to me lol. Please please please try to think about this critically
