Client with 100+ day overdue invoice finally paid me. Chasing him to pay was a pain in the ass but we finally got there. The ugly side of my business venture - getting slimy people to pay me. Soon I'll be able to take upfront payments and this person will need to pay everything upfront for future services. Burn me once, you don't get a second chance.
Now one more person with 100 day overdue invoice to pay me, also a slimy person. I've been lucky that most people I do work for actually respect and value what I do and pay me on time. I hate being a debt collector.
Glad going back went well for you! I am definitely due back, so reluctant to face my many issues but I need to. I’m booking in to get a new MHCP over the weekend.

Get this, they answered the call after 1hr45m and said the lines were closed! I had to leave a message for a call back. Let’s see if they actually call back (chances are low).
One hour on hold to get through to my water provider. The reviews online are hilarious, most of them complaining about hold times and bad customer service. Yet it doesn't look like anything's changed to improve that. Just make the customers wait, it's not like they can change water provider if they're not happy with the service. Who's idea was it to not have provider options like with electricity and gas?
Spent the morning dealing with an ant invasion in my kitchen, which was not fun. Finally made it to co-working to start my work day. Feeling really overwhelmed right now.
Loooong day. Just got home & showered. I drove home and don’t feel like I was concentrating at all. You know when you drive on familiar roads and wonder how on earth you got home? I’m that level of exhausted.
I encountered them a few years ago at Fairhaven beach thinking they were harmless (but annoying) sand flies. I was covered in bites all over my body, so horrible. Have not gone back to that beach since!
I could not be arsed making dinner but I’m glad I did, even if it’s a late one. There’s nothing more comforting after a shitty day than a home cooked meal. Steak cooked to perfection 👌
Today is my birthday and I’m going through my usual sadness phase about turning a year older. Feelings of being a failure are creeping in as I wish I would have achieved more by now, going into later 30s. I need to work harder at changing up the things I don’t like, because some (most) days, I feel like I’ve just given up.
I’m hoping I feel more positive in the morning. Have rooftop arvo drinks / dinner planned with a few friends which should be nice. Will do a few pressing tasks for work in the morning, but otherwise I’m taking the day off. Working won’t make my day any better, that’s for sure.
Sorry for the late night rant but typing this all out helps.
Love when someone else's leave becomes your problem. A couple years back my old boss went galivanting around Europe for 2 months and most of her work fell onto me, it was hell.
