  • So there are two kinds of microwaves:

    • those that use sensor for popcorn (typically it is on top, there are some that use audio)
    • those that have no sensor and just use a timer (those ask you how big is the popcorn bag)

You should use the popcorn button on the first ones, with the second type it is better to follow the instructions on the popcorn bag.

  • This was a terrible mistake on Biden's administration. Poland went to investigate politicians from the previous ruling party, and what would you know? Many were bought by Russians.

We need to go after corruption, Republicans, Democrats even SCOTUS. Corrupted politicians (no matter on which side he/she is) is a threat to democracy. We can't have strong institutions if corruption is allowed.

  • Check out "On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons From the 20th Century" by Prof. Timothy Snyder, he lists there what are the things that allows it to happen.

It's a short book and anyone should read it for current times. He also reads it on his YouTube channel.

  • Antibiotics are very cheap, even without insurance. US doctors (unlike what I experienced in Europe) don't prescribe antibiotics left and right and only when they diagnose bacterial infection.

In Europe many doctors frequently prescribe antibiotics when coming to the doctor with cold symptoms.

  • This was debate during trump's first term. While originally I was for preserving Section 230, after thinking about it, I'm starting to have doubts if it serves is well though.

It originally was created when there were forums, Usenet etc run by hobbyists. And it was a non brainier. It was needed, but after 30 years corporations came and basically built their media empires (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok etc) on a law that removes any accountability from them unlike traditional media. They don't produce content but they control algorithms that decide content that you see.

The section 230 at this point is obsolete and perhaps needs to go and maybe be replaced with a better law.

Sadly I don't expect a good alternative coming from the upcoming administration.

  • Why are we accepting reporting on tweets as a journalism?

Yeah MAGA reacted to the 60 minutes, but so what? One can find similar reactions on any topic, there's nothing new that we learn by reading this. It just manufacturers outrage on the other side.

  • First, watched? I have several dozen questions....

Saw != Watched, could have been for example seeing them going into a bedroom at a party. You don't see the act, but you kind of know b what is happening.

Second.....you didn't immediately call the police to report a child was being raped?

She was 17, not 7, if you were in that situation would you call, especially that you don't know the age?

Also the witnesses is pointing that she saw those two having sex, not that she knew her bio at the time.
