Why do you still hate Windows?
  • Windows is bad and immoral but I can't say I hate it because I almost never use it. Most of the time Windows is just bad news in my feed which makes me anticipate friends asking beginner questions for their GNU+Linux install.

I stopped using Windows when it became clear it's purpose is not to do what I want unless that happens to be what Microsoft wants. It was many things that all added up but I can only remember the last straw which broke the camel's back. I was trying to get something to work and made an online account in desperation - then I struggled/failed to find a way to revert the change and make the user become an offline account again. Faced with a reinstall I couldn't go through clicking "no, don't fuck me" several times to reinstall Windows.

  • Ah I see. Could have easily been all in one thread.

I only became aware of Ladybug recently from another post here so I found this PR informative and unfortunate even though it's old. If this no longer represents their views and potential future behavior then why bring it up, else it's not aged.

Does offense have to factor into it when judging a behavior as undesirable?

  • Ladybird - a brand new browser engine that isn't Google or Mozilla
  • Given the complexity of creating a new browser securely (or at all) then this suggestion is not good.

We already have projects that focus on smaller parts of a web browser (e.g a video player) which are free software. We should work on those and encourage their use over all browsers.

Source of the cute blanket emoji image of this community?

I had not heard of a weighted blanket until I saw that image and searched for what it might refer to. Are they useful for adults too? Will ask my ADHD friend if they ever had one, might make a good gift.

The image looks like it could be used as a real emoji (expressing comfort). Who made it? I would like to use the image if permission has been given (e.g. Creative Commons licence).
