I'm inclined to believe not a single actually suicidal person received one of these messages.
You can't automate concern for fellow humans.
If there's anything I've learned from my fiance, it's that there's both nothing wrong with a piece of media being for younger audiences and theres nothing wrong with consuming stuff meant for younger audiences.
Shit, Prodigy is endlessly shilled by folks on Mastodon with 18+ only in their banners.
This man will repair your car in such a way it will both never break and when you do go to a normal mechanic for something they will gaze upon it in awe and horror.
Of the lines I draw in my gun purchasing decisions (you're right they're all war profitiers), IWI and the like is the only one that I actively disuade people from.
That being said, the engineering history nerd in me is easily compelled to learn about design philosophies
I've only ever edited posts to keep going on a point. If my grammar or spelling mistakes are an issue in a conversation, then I'm probably arguing with someone who doesn't deserve my time honestly.
It's a forum. We're not debating at Cambridge. You don't deserve a second draft version only of my point.
You missed a second quotation mark on "their." At the end their to.
I love Ro. She's a great character with based politics.
Terrible officer.
Cptn Janeway: "Ensign Kim, what the hell are you wearing?"
Kim: "Oh these! Tom was telling me about them. They were all the rage in 1900's America and were worn by people seen as both tough and cool. They're called 'Assless Chaps.' I have to admit it was a little weird sitting down at first but I'm a huge fan of the cooling factor!"
Janeway turns to Lt. Paris
Tom's barely contained laughter waters his eyes trying not to lose it
Nice! Maybe I can get that AI server working then.
Good. Everyone deserves a union.
I do hope they do good things for the greater good of humanity though, which is historically what Google devs have unionized over seeing as they most certainly aren't hurting for money.
My avatar is also partially AI generated. I GIMPed the Zizek face from one of his movie posters though.
I'm used to people calling me out for the Zizek part and that hasn't happened on Lemmy ever lol.
Lots of places do a better job providing DRM free or DRM Lite ebooks (Chicago press only ties your name to the files so you'd have to doxx yourself to share it, but you can share it), but the sheer library of self published books on Amazon is hard to find.
There's an author I've become good friends with who I pay him (in coffee) for his books because I disagree with giving Amazon a cent. But he noted that's just where the masses are still and it's hard to break that momentum.
I'm sure the people of Gaza are always excited to play the "counter terrorists" on Dust 2 as well.
It took watching a bunch of videos on Israeli weapons development before I learned who uses the fucking Negev
Much easier for valve to ban the Russian one that most certainly wasn't going to make any money for valve than the money printer that is COD. And it has the perk of never letting then reflect on their own past as part of the war propaganda engine
New Player: "My Wizard casts fireball targeting the king!"
Me: "Actually that doesn't happen y-"
NP: "Did a hidden wizard cast counter spell! I can-"
Me: "No I just won't let you do that. Try to ruin our game again and I'll ban you from the discord."
Np: "Oh."
There are so many pieces of media that need much slower pacing. The Sequel Star wars movies for one.
An AI project that's ultimately just trying to cash out? Say it ain't so!
Huge fan of Veronica
