  • I mean... That is not really what was puzzling about mercury. Its elliptical orbit, as predicted by Newtonian physics, was shifting a little each orbit. It was not a trick of the light bending, it actually moves "wrong" according to newtonian physics. He could have just read wikipedia instead of making stuff up to try and sound smart. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tests_of_general_relativity

  • They also want to deport for "bristande vandel", "bad behavior/way of living", which this probably will fall under. In their examples of what constitutes "bristande vandel" one is: being a victim of a crime. Robbed? Deportation. Raped? Deportation.

  • That is true. The swedish government is pushing quite hard to overfill prisons, probably in a long term plan to force it towards privatization. So I would not be surprised if it is even part of the plan.

But, also, I think one strategy suggested is just paying them. Threaten with prison, see at what price they break.

  • This story is so bonkers in Sweden. The Liberal party wanted this law. They have since then, together with the rest of the right tried to blame it on the greens. And when they joind the government now, in support by the far right, they basically said they can finally abolish this tax. They are such a joke party.

  • Oh, a meme bashing marketing. That is a good meme market. You really got a sense for this stuff, I know, I'm in marketing. Now I will go home and dream happy dreams of how I market ad marketing strategies targeting children.

  • Not the interview itself, but... I had a personality test before the interview and it felt so fucked up. There were always two completely different statements of, at least to me, questionable morals. Like "I enjoy people's envy of me having better things" and "In social situations, the conversation should only be about me". Stuff like that, but not only egoistic statements. Then you had a single scale under the two statements which went from "describes me" to "describes me very well", for both statements, no neutral option. Stated time was like 10 minutes, I took it like in an hour. An hour of having to think through if I should say that "not having sympathy for an abandoned dog describes me" because the other option was more horrible. Felt fucking traumatized after that.

It got me the interview, but not the job.

  • What you are saying fits the american "liberal" label. What you are describing I would call social democrat, not a liberal. People calling themselves liberal in europe are, examples from sweden: compares public insight into publicly funded privatly owned companies to soviet, are for privatization of welfare institutions, collaborates with the far right, calls rightwing newspapers communist, and are against free speech at universities.

To be fair though, the meme is probably targeting socdems anyway so I guess fair enough.
