Never mind, I got it running!

So, I realized that I hadn't tried it in native Desktop mode, and it can be important, it works a little differently to Gaming mode in the background. And that was it.

1. Go to Desktop Mode (native Desktop mode using the power menu option, not Nested Desktop)
2. Right click Steam icon on the taskbar > Library
3. Find Heroic Games launcher on your library list and run it
4. Just launch the game in Heroic like you normally do. My Heroic launcher knew to use a recent version of GE Proton automatically, I didn't have to tell it.
5. Worked like a charm.

EDIT: I can't remember if Heroic is naturally Steam launchable or not. If not, just add it as non-steam game. You might not even have to launch Heroic from steam, I do it for convenience, but if that was part of the magic formula then that's how you do it.

For reals though, there aren’t many Proton DB entries for this one, but one Deck user reported they used GE-Proton 9-16. So I’d download that version of GE Proton if you haven’t and give that a go.

While I admire your effort in sovcit-Harry-Potter-spell-shouting a legal condition into being, it feels like they would have some bat-turd insane terminology that they would use here, and that would be the chef's kiss.

Still though, a solid effort, I'm going to give an 8/10.

We just might be able to stop repeating negative history in 60-100 year phases all the time, due to the overwhelming majority of people having living memory of those events, instead of a handful of people due to the restrictions of the human life span.

Plenty of issues overall, sure, but I'm speaking specifically about the statistical inability to vote for third parties and have it mean anything.

First past the post voting is the sole issue that is keeping legitimately contending third parties off of our ballots.

Installing ranked choice voting (or one of its very close cousins) is the the number one reformation change that can be made to give the people their voices back. So of course, the powers that be are terrified of it... no surprises here.
