Sometimes when I think of everything, all these moving parts. I imagine the best possible ending and the worst possible ending for us. Granted, sure, it will probably, as it has for all of human history, settle out to somewhere in the middle. But, I don't know. The stakes feel higher. There feels like force multipliers that we didn't have before. Things stewing for centuries, for millenia, feel like they're reaching a head. I think the calendar might reset, for better or for worse, soon.

On one hand, we can imagine nuclear hellfire, seas and skies and fields grey and lifeless and broken, all culture and civilization destroyed, us all dying both gruesome and violent and horrific deaths as well as banal, undignified, drawn out deaths. All of it being for nothing. Truly hell on Earth.

On the flipside, can we dare to imagine something better? The wounds of bigotry and war and brainwashing and conditioning toward such an awful way of living being healed? Can we not tell that people all over the world, no matter how many times the bad guys tried to crush socialism out of them, crave only peace and prosperity, cooperation? Love? Can we not imagine human ingenuity and the first good global collaborative effort between mankind fixing the climate crisis, and undoing those wounds to Mother Nature as well?

Am I naive for imagining that we could all have a better life, even if there is much bloodshed and suffering still to be had between now and then? That it is always darkest before dawn? That the fog obscures a light at the end of this tunnel?

I guess the only way it may come about is if we fight for it as if it is possible, even if it isn't. What other choice do we have?

Thank you everybody for your thoughts, someone said I might have ADHD in high school but instead of seriously considering it, I researched it to purposefully mimic it and recite it and skew tests so I could just get drugs to abuse. Never heard much of avoidance this or that but I'll try to look into it!

I can see a couple downvotes so I might have upset someone, so for some context:

The mod was a she/her with an anime girl pfp. My name on there was KiG V2, I'm that everywhere. I genuinely can't remember the nature of what got me banned, I think it was, like, I said something contentious, I was having a civil discussion with a few others, the mod stepped in with a very different tone and was like "you're wrong shut up," I just talked to them like anybody else just tried to very plainly and politely speak my piece, I guess this was intolerable because I was immediately permabanned.

I messaged two separate people from the incident, they assured me that I did nothing wrong and that her behavior was regularly a petty "my way or the highway" type deal, that it was less about me breaking a rule and more about me insulting her personally for not being immediately defferent. Which is, in my experience, pretty typical Discord mod behavior (no hate if any of the mods etc here are also mods on Discord, I like all the mods here everybody strikes me as reasonable, not power tripping brats like that one).

I don't know, it happened, like, a year ago I think.

I would gladly volunteer myself to do labor in a country the US destroyed. Not because I'm "cucked" and feel individually to blame, but it's just...the right thing to do.

I got banned from a GZD Discord for "talking back" to a mod 😅 I was polite asf mind you. Fucking megalomaniacs.

Damn...is people acting culty and convincing each other to self harm really that common? I know a girl in a Discord just like that, and I met someone close to me in a Discord that was full of people exactly like that, two separate instances. And yeah, both Left-ish. This is fucking nuts.

To be fair, they did also ask to be unfucked, I think both harshness and gentleness from different people can help build a broader understanding. He should understand that, yes, these sort of things will deeply upset some people, you are perfectly valid in your reaction to it. There was no name calling, you restrained yourself quite well.

I myself projected my own past self onto OP and thus felt to leap to his defense. We're all just playing out our own pasts, huh?
