  • Why does the instance make a big difference? I thought the point in federation is that the instance does NOT matter because everything shows up across instances? Genuinely curious and would appreciate if someone could explain.

  • I am sure you know a bunch of things about topics better than a lot of other people. Maybe you just think you don't know it well enough. Plus, being into something doesn't mean you have to be able to teach it to others, this doesn't mean your dumb. When you get a chance, give yourself some grace, you deserve it! :)

  • Connect for Lemmy App @lemmy.ca

I there a way to NOT refresh when opening the app?

  • That's quite the judgement without ANY reasoning or explanation. I guess we can agree to disagree on that. I think her approach of looking at things makes perfect sense and has helped several people in know. Btw. she is not "just somebody who writes books" she was trained in Clinical Psychology at Cornell University and the New School for Social Research and studied at the Philadelphia School of Psychoanalysis. Anyways, to each their own, I'll stick with it, she is a wonderful resource.

  • Depending on what kind of outlet you're talking about and what country you're in you may be limited in the power it will have. In the US at 110 V and maybe being able to pull 15 A (based on fuse for that circuit) you could only get 1650 W. A regular cook top or range is hard wired, has a much bigger fuse on they circuit usually 30 to 40 A and gets two phases so has 220 V which allows for much higher power output. My range's big induction burner has 3600 W for example so it's quite the difference.
