Whats an absurd luxury you enjoy every day in your life?
  • High quality tea can be brewed multiple times, you'd typically use a higher tea to water ratio than for a single steep though.

Green, pu erh and especially oolong teas also often change their flavor profile and taste in subsequent steeps, bringing out more nuanced flavors.

  • Yeah conda is slow af, but you can change the env solver which makes things much faster and there's also mamba/miniconda which I haven't tried but is supposedly much faster

  • I started to get these daily at random hours, even when I'm sleeping. Someone's trying to hack me?
  • You can create an email alias for your Microsoft account and then only enable login from that account. If you then do not use that email for anything but the login, you should be pretty safe from credential stuffing attacks.

I had a very similar issue with multiple failed login attempts and changing my login email stopped it right away.

    The More You Know
  • For backflow you would need a higher pressure in the small reservoir. You would at best get equal pressure in both reservoirs unless you actively try to squeeze it back in.

  • Has any scientific breakthrough come out of the Folding@Home project?
  • The thing is that many of these things just can't be measured directly. You can use the information from the simulation to get a deeper understanding of e.g. some receptors (as was done), and use that information for something else. For example to optimize a binder for the receptor, or to manipulate the tonic signalling. But that's then often a paper building onto the findings from the simulation.

  • Have you looked at how Obsidian handles it? I think their solution is pretty much perfect. You have the markdown, you write wysiwym, but you only ever see the source when your cursor is in that specific line/part. Also for equations.

  • LPT Do it.
  • You don't. You could try overleaf or some wysiwyg editor for LaTeX, but both need some getting used to and at least a minute amount of effort. Overleaf probably has the lowest barrier of entry (0 set up required), but is a paid service.

  • What to do with flower bulbs in this time of the year?

So I got my hands on some flower bulbs which are typically meant to be planted in spring and I was wondering what I could do with them now. To be concrete, I have

    • Dahlia
    • Mirabilis jalapa
    • Ixia

I'm in USDA zone 7b/8a and I could either place them on a south facing balcony or inside. I've also read that you can force flowers in a vase with some bulbs such as Hyacinths but I haven't read anything about that with the ones I have. Or should I just keep them in storage until next spring and plant them then?
