German-speakers of Lemmy, does 'Amerika' normally mean 'the Americas' or 'the USA'?

  • I believe everybody uses it wrong though. Technically "Amerika" is the continent. But most people mean "Die Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika" (The United States of America aka USA)

    Wieso entscheiden sich jeden Tag Menschen da Geld für zu bezahlen? Haben die keine andere Möglichkeit?

    Wenn ein Unternehmen sich weigert attraktive Löhne zu zahlen und dann unter (Fach)personalmangel leidet, dann entscheiden die sich ja bewusst zu wenig Personal zu haben. Angebot und Nachfrage, oder? Der Markt regelt das schon.
