  • The real fun is that smoke travels. I'm far to your south, but my city is also covered in a haze. Canadian wildfire season hurts the whole North American Northeast, yet we still have politicians in both countries claiming it's not a problem.

  • No, I think a lot of fans agree that the show went bad at some point, people just have different arguments for when it stopped being good.

The first few seasons were pretty good TV, but I don't really understand why studio's are holding onto it either. At first I thought it was just "yeah it ended poorly, maybe we can fix that?" but I feel like a lot of the new stuff has writing just as wacky as season 8.

  • So it doesn't seem like it's collecting all of the information from the updated EULA yet, but likely will start doing so soon.

Does anyone know if you can still connect to multiplayer servers if you aren't on the latest patch? I might just turn off auto-updates and prevent the game from ever updating, but I'd like to have the option to play some more with friends in the future

  • I mean, that's because we have more options for entertainment than ever before. If something is mid, why should I watch it over the 10,000+ 10/10s that I haven't experienced yet, or even worse, why should I watch it over rewatching one of the 100s of 10/10s I already know and love? There's only so many hours in the day that you have to watch something, why would you willingly spend time on mid content?

  • The serious answer is they learn it from their parents and society at large.

I'd be willing to bet money that the household they grew up in has Fox News blasting 24/7. They certainly live in a conservative area, so all their friends are probably growing up in similar situations. When you feed children an informational diet of consistent hatred and violence, you can't really be surprised when they act on it.

  • This feels like an interesting gambit from the PVV. I imagine their campaign will largely consist of pointing to their coalition allies as the source of their failure to pass some of their insane immigration "reforms," and are hoping to pick up even more seats in the election.

Of course, this could also backfire tremendously. It feels like these days, whether a country falls centrist or fash is more like a coin flip. If the Dutch citizens are looking at the shitshow that currently is the U.S. government, they might feel like Wilders and the PVV had their time and choose normalcy. Another big election for the future of Europe.

  • Setting it to any single number is pointless, it will inevitably stagnate and fall behind inflation, leaving us in the exact same position.

The first thing we need to do is redefine a livable wage to being able to afford shelter, food, and utilities. Then, we can tie the minimum wage to the current livable wage, which will continue to rise in future alongside inflation.

  • The trick is to have an undiagnosed illness that constantly upsets your stomach and threatens to regurgitate any food you eat. Once I realized it hurts less to not eat at all, I started regularly skipping on meals. What's really annoying is that I still have a pudgy tummy, even though I'm stuck on a diet some people would dream of being able to commit to.

  • I do think some of the blame has to lie on the centrist candidates who legitimize the grievances of the far-right by pandering to them, instead of calling out their lies and collaborating with the left. Seems to be a global trend of centrists preferring to try and capture the vote of the mythical right-wing moderate.

  • and honestly, considering the average American, this feels right. It's certainly more representative of us than any smooth-talking orator. We became a nation of charlatans and fools; it is only natural that our leadership reflects that.
