And you're the artist here? I love this. Looking forward to me!

  • He was amazing. 16 when he passed. I'd had him by my side literally half of my life. Dude was awesome. He was like a saint Bernard shoved into a cat's body. Lol. He loved to drool on you, and we couldn't leave tomatoes or onions out. They were not safe around him.

  • My beloved cat friend, Jack, passed early this year. He was amazing. A highland lynx, absolutely massive, and clumsy as they come. He would only drink water from one of these for years, but refused to ever stick his face in it. He was a polydactyl, meaning he had giant enormous feet with extra toes. He could cup his paws like hands, and would scoop water from the basin (not the stream), and drink from it like some kind of royalty.

His paws were constantly wet, and our home always had cat paw prints on the floor, and I miss that so much.

  • Yes. I see people with multiple subscriptions, including like yt and Spotify, and I don't understand why. Lol Do the offer services offer something other than just ad free listening that you wouldn't get with yt music?

  • Maybe the ones I've had are looser? I've personally done it to 3 different blinds, but they were all in the same rental house, so maybe they're different somehow

  • Honest question, why should I be paying for a music streaming app when I already have YouTube premium? Also, does no one use Pandora anymore? I still use it occasionally.

It's mainly the length of time. It lasts so long, tons of time for me to do something crazy. DMT seems safer from a totally underinformed position, just because it doesn't last as long, and I think my buddy can restrain me for 15 minutes better than he can for 8 hours. Lol

  • It's the middle of the night for me, so I didn't look to find the picture, but a beka books are the books I used until I was 8, when the science modules started. I had severe struggles learning how to read with them, too. My mom got sing, spell, read and write from a friend of a friend, and I went from literally nothing to reading without issue within a month. Basically, a beka is absolute trash and should be forced to shut down. They're absolutely horrible.

But, one really cool thing, when she discovered how bad the a beka books were, and she got text books from the local library (which the state of Virginia never told her was an option when she called to get everything set up for the homeschooling. They told her to use a beka), our options exploded. There were so many, and I was able to go to the local library and do my studying because my neighborhood had a library in it. I ended up graduating 12th grade at 14, because we didn't take summers off, and curriculum was basically designed specifically for me. I'm not against homeschooling, a lot of people assume I am when I mention those books, but I am against religious fundamentalism being passed off as state approved education.

Sorry, that was really long. Tl;Dr my mama is fucking awesome, and a beka books are absolute garbage. Lol

  • Little trick I figured out as a kid in case you ever have the string blinds again (also, never seen stringless):

Cut a string to the same length as the two coming out of the blinds, snip the little plastic cap off the two attached to the blinds, and braid the three strings together, tie at the end. Never pull unevenly again.

  • Yeah, my mom would dropped that like it was hot. I was home schooled because we moved so much (poor, not military). When we got to the science module of the school books when I was ± 8 years old, she realized just how much fundamentalist bullshit was in them. She has spent basically everything on those books, and we never used them again. Went to the local library and got all the science books she could, and taught actual science to me. The books they had sent literally had drawings on humans wearing leopard skins foraging for berries while a dinosaur drank water in the background.

  • If tomorrow it was announced that aliens were real, highly intelligent, and in communication with our governments, no one would be talking about it by Halloween

Seriously, I doubt it would even take that long. We get used to shit so quickly, and the news cycles have to keep feeding us new things, the only way we'd keep talking about the aliens if they kept doing new and interesting things. I'd be willing to bet a year later there would be some people who straight up forgot about it. "Oh yeah, aliens! Are they gonna, like, visit at some point or just keep exchanging calls with the Whitehouse?"

Not sure if this goes here, but whenever I get a reply to a comment, it shows up twice? Any body know why?

    Multiple users, restricted access

Hey, folks, I'm new to this side of things, and I'm hoping someone can help me out.

I just signed up 5tb of storage through Hetzner's storage share, using nextcloud. I like it so far, but I'm running into an issue. I figured out how to make multiple users, but I don't know how to (or if I can) restrict different users to specific folders. We're broke, so this is going to be shared between me, my mom, my brother, and my sister in law. If it's possible, I'd like to create a folder for each of us, and restrict access to that folder to just that person. I don't want to be able to see what's in my brother's folder, and I don't want my mom seeing what's in mine, et cetera. I've tried to google it and look it up on youtube, but most of what I can find isn't related, and if it is, it's a bunch of technospeak that I don't really understand about self-hosting, which I'm not doing. If it's possible, it would be cool to have a central shared folder as well, but we could just share links with each other when we want to share something if needed.

Any help is really appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Suspend on lid close

Hey, folks, I'm hoping someone here can help me out.

I have a laptop that has been messed up for a while, and I just got it repaired. I was using as basically a desktop, external monitor, mouse, keyboard. I just got it repaired and would like to use it as a laptop again. My problem is that something like 2 years ago, I edited some setting so that I could close the lid of the laptop and it wouldn't suspend, but I can't remember how I did it, and now it won't suspend when I close it, which is less than convenient for use as a laptop.

I googled, but it's not in GNOME tweaks anymore, and I'm not sure how to do any of the stuff I see people posting about terminal commands. I can follow instructions for command line stuff, but I sort of need it spelled out for me from step 1.

Any help is really appreciated. Thanks in advance!

can't use eternity on new phone

Hey, folks, I just got a new phone, and reinstalled Eternity on it. But no matter which account I try to log in with, I'm getting an error ("cannot fetch user info") when I try to log in.

Any help is much appreciated. I'm not sure if eternity is on the play store, but I got it through f droid if that matters.
