  • Buddy, I lived there for years. My sources are the hundreds of Chinese people I spoke to in their native tongue for years. Not the propaganda from my country. True, SOME Chinese people have VPNs. Most do not.

And I think the more poignant question is this. Why do they need a VPN to access the wider internet in the first place?

  • When they find out the extent of the censorship they mind very much. But that's the problem, the censorship is so deep and so good that the vast majority of the Chinese never find out how extensive it is, because it's not just your WeChat, it's ALL MEDIA. The Chinese don't have access to over 90% of the internet, so they never find out what's out there or know what information they're missing.

And you're just trading one dystopian nightmare for another. Saying one is better than the other is like saying having a foot cut off is better than losing a kidney. There is nuance, they're both bad.

  • I lived in china for 4 years and Winnie has Def never been outlawed. Chinese censorship is much more sophisticated than "hey, that's illegal." There's not a list of pictures or memes or phrases that if you're caught with you'll get a visit from the police. No no no. There are hundreds of thousands of people monitoring social media for the latest "subversive" trends. When a new trend develops that content is blacklisted and just not allowed to be spread. You'll send your friend a picture and it never shows up on their phone. There's no indication on your end that it didn't send or they didn't get it. You can have this content on your phone, the CCP doesn't care. They care about it spreading. And you'll never get in trouble for trying to spread it because the system doesn't allow it to spread.

  • Yes. You love Russia so much that you want to be russian. That's what this entire article/comments section has been about. How much you love Russian aggression. If you are Ukrainian like you claim and if you're celebrating the Russian invasion then you're okay with the erasure of your heritage in exchange for russian heritage.

Or you're lying. Those are the two options.

You're not politically literate enough to know what fascist means. So you trying to use it as an insult is more quaint than anything else. Anyway, we're done here, I think we've more than proven you're a disengenuous liar.

  • Even if everything you say is true, which it isn't, none of that justifies Russia invading a sovereign nation in 2014. Long before zelensky.

As for your claim that you're from a region that hasn't been stolen by Russia that is a lame and bad excuse. Go to Poland, walk into Belarus, tell them you want to help with the" liberation" of your homeland and they'll put you on the first train to Russia. That's how I know you're a liar. You can make it to Russia easily.

You're a braindead troglodyte and you are not Ukrainian.

  • By that logic every country should invade every other country to "save" the population that didn't vote for the party currently in power. You truly are braindead. Your thinking is not based in reality. I hope the russians "liberate" you.

If Russia is so good to Ukrainians then why aren't you there? I'm starting to think you're a liar. Just kidding I've known you were a liar from the start. every Ukrainian me and my wife know, and there are dozens, both in the country still and outside, know that Russian "liberation" is a death sentence.

You're a liar and a charlatan. Have the day you deserve

  • Last I checked Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014. Putin did that. Then Putin began a major offensive in 2022, causing an existential crisis for Ukraine. If Russia really cared about "saving" they would leave, and the "kidnapping" wouldnstop. None of it started until Russia invaded. This "kidnapping" you speak of is Ukraine enforcing it's conscription laws, laws that have been expanded because of Putin's brutal actions. Russia does the same thing to it's people. And try skipping the draft in South Korea or Israel. They don't take kindly to that either.

Tell me, how many Ukrainians have you spoken to since the Russia restarted it's brutal war of aggression in 2022? My guess is zero.

  • Man I've ran into some super Russia apologists on here. I don't get it, especially now that Putin refuses all cease fire agreements it's pretty clear who the aggressor is. To me it's been clear from the start, but lately the evidence has been piling up fast.

  • Man, I'm used to watching US police videos and am so desensitized to police brutality that I'm not even shocked by this. Not saying these cops don't deserve to be punished (especially the kicker) they absolutely do. I guess it's just the state of things. The state of my brain.
