Thanks for sharing, on my side I think I'll just let all the rumours on the side and wait for the show
From what I remember the main issue here is technical.
At the end of the day, your account needs to be attached to a technical entity, even if it's only an identity provider. You could imagine Lemmy instances that would only host accounts and not communities (some of them are already in this case, but more because of a lack of activity their from their own volition). For the reputation, you can indicate your alts on every of your accounts. Not the most elegant way, but there are areas where we are functioning with even more tweaks and work arounds (e.g. moderation)
By the way, if you are interested in movie and TV shows discussions, feel free to have a look at !movies@lemm.ee
Can you please maybe edit your post to explain that actually Lemmy does this? Something like [Update: it does] or something
They are on feddit.ch so it's all good. The Lemmy documentation should be hosted elsewhere, but it seems to be behind feature development, the latest ones are not explained: https://join-lemmy.org/docs/users/06-other-features.html
I guess I'll make an announcement similar to the one about instance blocking yesterday.
Seems like a lot of people have been missing on those features.
What are some goals you all are working towards? What are your hobbies that make you feel fulfilled? What’s something that makes you look forward to the (near) future?
Feel free to ask this in your own post, it seems like an interesting topic!
Subscriptions, block lists and general settings can be exported and imported since version 0.19.X
Mastodon doesn't allow to import posts due to technical limitations (as it would also a security risks, anyone being able to massively inject posts into an instance):
Your posts will not be moved, due to technical limitations.
Disclaimer, I'm not the parent, @yads@lemmy.ca is
From what I remember, it is the most active, I had a look for the !yurop@lemm.ee sidebar a while back
!crochet@lemmy.ca would probably like this
I agree to it's not perfect, but how come than Denmark and Belgium, which are amongst the most equal income wise (7 and 14 lowest Gini coefficient in the world) are top 5 and 6 here too?

We always regret how most of entertainment is now profit-driven, but what are films or shows that you enjoyed where the directive team had almost complete creative freedom?
Thank you everyone for the very nice thread yesterday, most of you seem to have a nice week-end! To continue on this vibe, what are some nice Lemmy communities you enjoy contributing to?
