  • I'd say it's slightly easier, but you should remember that avoiding combat is not only an option but sometimes recommended.

Edit. Also remember that when you get the opertunity to practice spar, do it. You don't just train your ingame character but also yourself.

  • There is a point to be made that C is the foundation to all other languages, and thus being able to write C let's you better understand how other C based languages (which is basically all of them) work.

I personally believe that in a academic sense, C should be your first language. However in a non-professional hobby context start with whatever you feel like.

  • I've seen the same video, as long as it has a heat pump then its basically as efficient as we can get it. It's those small drink coolers and portable freezers that can be run of the cigarette lighter in your car that uses the inefficient Peltier module

  • My local government news. Call me a sheep but since they don't farm clicks they seem to have the most nuanced and engaging stories. For-profit news these days are just doom-posting and rage bait.

  • In my company I have a serious picture in Teams, however in our internal applications (Jira, etc) I have a picture of rasputin. Over Christmas I used a AI tool to put a santa hat on him and used that as my profile picture

  • I guess Finland has a larger non-mainstream community than is normal. However it feels weird that there is such a small Swedish counterpart, since they also have a relatively large pirate movement. Perhaps because the Swedish instances are very political, so Swedish users spread out over the fediverse?

  • I think it's an inherent problem with team scale. You can generally work faster when you know everyone that will use your code and you know exactly where and how it will be used. However if three thousand people will work with your code it has to be a lot more generic and water-tight. Adding more people to the team means that the rest of the team will work slower. You can't add more people to the orchestra and have it played faster.
