I remember looking up the effectiveness of masks pre 2020, and the consensus in the english speaking world was that there's no real public health benefit to masking in public during flu season. They basically portrayed the practice of masking in Asia as polite decorum and superstition.

Isn't the intent to be less friendly to advertisers? A brand doesn't want to be associated with suicide. So people say "unalive themself" instead, which carries the same meaning as "suicide", thus making a mockery of the attempt at censorship

This is like when someone cherry picks a bunch of quotes from the Quran as evidence that islam is "incompatible" with western thought. Or when people point to the Hebrew bible and use it as evidence that all those who practice Judaism are genocidal

Religious practices often diverge wildly from the texts. I think you're making an OK theological argument, because the hypocrisy is clear. But as a political argument, you end up oversimplifying reality, and leave yourself open to very bigoted reasoning
