It's pretty interesting that in English the word for "translate" (from one language to another) means moving from one place to another, but for example Chinese and Finnish use words relating to rotation instead, the opposite of translation. I think this is a matter of level of abstraction. It is quite possible to have a situation where individual oppressors (members of an oppressing group) do not personally deserve whatever violence, suppression, or appropriation of land and resources that is necessary for liberation. To effectively fight oppression we have to look beyond individual morality, and the results we get are not fully reducible back to a way to look at individual people.
This point of view, however, is unstable in our deeply individualist society, especially for any mass movement. Any possible movement for Palestinian liberation will have some misguided personal hatred of Israelis, beyond them being part of the oppressor, which has to be tolerated to a degree. This makes it especially critical to fight any antisemitism within the movement, even when it results in serious weaknesses.

People are being so conspiracy-brained about this. Many people seem to think a nice photo with an American flag coming from a rally is somehow so unlikely that it has to be staged. I saw someone claim the whole crowd was paid actors but they were also not trained to react like how a crowd reacts when there is a shooter, for some reason. And for what, it's not obvious this will even help him that much.
In the early days of this site, it was common to flirt with the idea of running it more democratically. This was correctly deemed unfeasible during the Age of Struggle Sessions and the arbitrary dictatorship of the mods was cemented.
But maybe the problem wasn't democracy itself, but trying to jump the gun by modeling the site democracy after bourgeois or proletarian democracies. What we need to do is go back to the roots, reform the site to be more like ancient Athenian democracy.
I suggest the first reform is to implement a system of Ostrakismos, where once in a while there is a thread where we can name other users, and if one or more of these comments gets above a certain threshold of upvotes, the named user with the most upvotes on the comment gets banned for a year.
