  • Actually, I think they are compatible...but in a VERY specific way. I believe that government should provide all basic necessities to people, such as food, shelter, healthcare, transport, gasoline, and so forth. Capitalism can be used for luxury items, such as fashionable clothing, bigger houses, flavored toothpaste, singing bass decorations, ect. In this way, money is used for lifestyle, rather than being a requirement for survival.

This effectively allows people to strike or protest at will, since the coercive power of government and corporations is much reduced. We get to keep the efficiency of capitalism, while keeping it from metastasizing into a cancer.

  • Yup. The great issue with capitalism, is that it wasn't formally designed to enrich society as a whole. It merely is an upgraded iteration of feudalism. You can give a pig a top hat and monocle, but it is still a pig.

We will need a new Constitution, one built to acknowledge that Economics is power. The framers addressed politics and violence, but overlooked the fundamental impact that money has on society. Floors and ceilings on wealth should be implemented, so that the likes of Musk or Trump cannot exist.

  • An Oligarchic Republic, your wealth determines how many votes you get. In this system, the 99% of poor voters are shit.

We will need wealth floors and ceilings in a revised Constitution in order to get rid of this issue. Economics, politics, and violence, are just different faces of power. The great mistake of the Founding Fathers was failing to recognize that money needs checks and balances, else it runs out of control.

  • Nothing more dominating than a whole new party with actual vitality to it. I think many moderates who lack wealth would jump ship to a Progressive party, if it looks strong. This is why Bernie and AOC have the potential to succeed where the Geronocrats failed.

That is ultimately why Trump got to where he did - by being more lively than the other bastards. Milquetoasts get roasted by default, and the vast majority of the Geronocrats have the vitality of a corpse.

  • I want to abandon the centrist approach, period. No more reaching across the aisle, no more insider trading, no more letting capitalists dictate how society should be. America has given capitalism a nearly free hand to determine the nation's destiny, and it has lead to death camps, fascism, and stolen the prosperity that workers had earned with their sweat.

It is time to try a completely different approach to economics and an overhauled Constitution.

  • Nah, Bin Laden couldn't do this. He didn't own media empires or any kind of business in America. The likes of Thiel, Musk, Trump, DeSantis, and so forth are the true architects of America's death. They are the embodiment of the saying...

"Better to rule over hell, than to serve in heaven."

  • For my part, I just assume that I wouldn't be fun, and simply stay away from other humans when possible. I can't really enjoy being a protagonist of romance VNs anymore, because I am aware of how unlikable I am. Reality intrudes on fantasy, turning the dream into a nightmare.

As a dweller, I would like more basement to keep me and humanity separated, never to see each other again.

  • My money is on martial law, and the summary removal or execution of Boasberg.

Wish I was being sarcastic, but the odds of martial law or war being declared on Hitler's birthday - the 20th, are far too likely for my taste. It would be within Trump's character to simply murder his foes, regardless of their place in society.

  • I view both peaceful and violent protest to be tools meant to work together. The hammer of violence and the anvil of peace, shaping the politics of yore into something more useful.

Problem is, the media and education in America has solely emphasized peaceful movements, while ignoring or downplaying the value of violence. This is a deliberate effort made by evil oligarchs and naive peaceniks, whose reasons happen to align with the result.

  • My homebrew is Universal Ranked Income, or URI. There are at least two jokes in that shorthand.

Anyhow, the premise is that everyone gets a Rank 0 income with universal benefits by default. $10k is given to every citizen each year, money being solely used for lifestyle rather than necessity. Higher ranks replace the income of lower ones. Schooling is a job with an income based on grades, $12k-$20k range of income. Rank 2 is jobs like being a waitress or clerk, giving $40k. Astronauts fall into the highest category of R5, thus they get $100k. All jobs are ranked according to objective Effort, Risk, and Knowledge metrics. Employers can't pay more or less than the income rank, nor offer benefits to select employees.

Essentially, there are absolute floors and ceilings on income and wealth. Everyone also gets issued standard items like food, clothing, cars, and so forth, but these are very generic - you spend money to get clothes with interesting patterns, varied food, bigger cars, larger shelter, and so forth. Capitalism is reserved for things that need to be attractive, while socialism is used to ensure survival and wellbeing.

  • True. Even the Nordic Model nations are backsliding from what I hear. It is why I think that we need to try an wholly artificial economic system, with rules and principles. Similar to a Constitution's framework, but focused on providing for the wellbeing of all citizens.

  • AOC should team up with Blue State governors to campaign solely in their states, with their protection. Trump WILL try to dispose of her, it is only a matter of time. Having a state's National Guard to protect her from Dogey goons will be key to allowing AOC to continue working against the regime.
