  • Sounds like you're older though. Social media wasn't nearly as ubiquitous a decade ago as it is now.

There was separation between online and everything else. But for these kids, online is everything. The spaces are nearly equal in experience and importance.

  • As a very new PC gamer, supplementing my long time Xbox gaming, the biggest advantage of consoles is that games always work OOTB (or OOTDownload).

Sometimes with PC gaming, a game just doesn't run for whatever reason, or you get crashes, or any other weird issues. Most people don't want to have to tinker in settings just to get consistent framerates.

Including myself, because I don't have a lot of time to play and I don't want to waste that time troubleshooting.

  • It would be great for inner or basement office spaces where windows just can't happen. And if it projects a bit of UV light, with a video of the sun that moves with the real time, it would be even better.

Though, I'd also argue that would make it a poorly designed building.

  • The biggest problem about the casting is it feels like they chose people who are 20 years older than the characters they're supposed to portray. And then you have Kevin Hart and Jack Black... Just, who is making these horrible casting decisions?

  • Seething over someone wanting to enjoy a game they bought is unreasonable. Some people get pissed at the suggestion it should have an easier mode.

Accessibility takes nothing away from the way those players want to play Souls games. Simple, small adjustments to enemy health, damage, invincibility frames, and speed could go a very long way to making the game worth the money people paid for it.

It's especially frustrating that Elden Ring was constantly pitched as the most accessible souls game, but it's still not nearly as accessible as fans and reviewers made it out to be.

  • I did it in BG3 after telling myself I wouldn't.

But annoyingly, I'd walk into a room of enemies that I didn't know were there and just get absolutely shredded, where the whole party would die.

Or I'd fail a check 4 times and feel like an entire quest line got closed off or that I couldn't finish a quest because the fight was too difficult. Kind of annoying.

  • It's the idea that one marginalized group could marginalize another group. I get they may not agree on intricate political ideas, but to be racist while being part of a group of people that is constantly treated as lesser for similar reasons... That baffles me.

  • I'd guess they're going to integrate basically an Xbox interface and features into a handheld. Meaning it'll have game pass, cloud gaming, recording and sharing, and cross saving. And it'll very likely use your Xbox to stream from if you enable that feature because it's already a thing the box can do.

I doubt it'll be a full Windows handheld though, which I think may be a good thing.

  • UPS is the fucking worst. Everything I have ever had shipped with them gets delayed or lost or damaged. Somehow, I've had better luck from FedEx and I know people typically think they're god-awful.
