Die zijn zeker goed om te hebben, maar ik zou eens beginnen met een jerrycannetje (pp) water die je gewoon ergens hebt staan... als je dat elke 4 of 5 maanden ververst ben je volgens mij prima veilig en heb je voor ruim een week schoon en veilig drinkwater.
Je moet toch ergens water hebben om in beginsel te reinigen, en om nou gelijk je regenton in te duiken omdat je pilletjes hebt...
Ik vind een boycot wel een sterke term maar we zijn bij ons thuis wel echt actief dingen naar lokale(ere) producten aan het omkatten waar mogelijk ja. Waar het wel helpt dat ik daar sowieso al veel langer mee was.
Bijvoorbeeld maar niet beperkt tot:
- Gmail enzo exit, Proton voor in de plaats.
- Amazon exit, (random webshop of gewoon gewoon de gebruikelijke dozenschuivers als bol, coolblue, mediamarkt)
- Lemmy over Reddit.
- Minder streaming diensten, meer europese diensten.
- Kijken waar producten vandaan komen in de supermarkt.
- Social media min of meer volledig weg.
- Signal over whatsapp. (al is signal evengoed gebaseerd in de VS, het is open source en niet van Zuck)
En als ik nu dingen koop betrap ik me er toch ook op even op vluchtig te googlen wie er geld aan verdient als ik het koop. Ik was aan het twijfelen tussen een Remington en Philips tondeuse bijvoorbeeld en dat is dan toch Philips geworden. (ik ben me er van bewust dat philips ook al even niet meer Nederlands is)
This is a sentiment that is just generally garnering traction in Europe as a whole I think.
I don't even think it's about hurting the US/Trump as much as people just have a renewed interest to support "local" business as a result of recent events.
I pump the brakes with the swearing if I'm around kids, complete strangers, or people I know really take offense to it, i'm honestly not trying to be rude on purpose.
But other than that, no. I swear a lot and have no intention to lessen that. It's an excellent coping mechanism for stress and it doesn't hurt anybody or, in fact, anything.
Replacing it with things like "what the cluck" would only add to the anger I feel in the moment because I think that's horribly cringe.
Cyberpunk (and Witcher 3) already runs, and honestly way better then I expected, on my steam deck. They even have a specific graphics setting to accommodate for it's obviously limited hardware, so CDPR are also aware people play their games on the steam deck as evidenced by this graphics setting.
Steamdeck is linux. Obviously this proton translation layer that is being leveraged is very capable.
For all intents and purposeses, CDPR is already where they need to be for half-decent Linux support and honestly I don't understand why they didn't already draw that last sprint that would be required to fully support this.

The problem with companies like for example Adobe over let's say DeWalt is that they actually have a pretty strong grip on it's target market.
If there was only one company that made tools to build houses i'm sure eventually they'd try to pull the same crap if they could get away with it.
You can totally see the same kind of walled garden thinking in things like battery platforms for powertools. Most people buy into a brand and never go elsewhere but there's litterally zero technical purpose behind this other then toolmakers going through lengths making their batteries only fit their tools.

Yeah. People in a manual definately don't ever do that.
It doesn't free up time no but it does make driving ever so slightly less involved.
Controls on a drill have a clear practical purpose, and to my knowledge they don't make them that do that automatically in a reasonable price range. I would totally buy that if they did. ;-)
You'll never catch me doing something that can be automated away, this includes shifting gears in a car.
But a car is just a tool to me, like a cordless drill, so i'm sure I don't get it.
Algehele koers en denkwijze is voor mij belangrijk, dus ik kijk naar hoe zo'n partij zich houd over langere tijd en schat in of ze breed genomen keuze's maken/standpunten innemen waar ik me in kan vinden.
Ik stem altijd hetzelfde. Ik wil me niet elke keer verdiepen in partijagenda's die heel erg op actualiteiten gericht zijn en bij coalitievorming ook als eerste weer sneuvelen.
Vroeger stemde ik D66 maar toen ze hun eigen referendumwet om zeep hielpen na dat Oekraine gebeuren van Geenstijl in 2016 was ik er een beetje klaar mee. En ik had later ook een beetje moeite met Kaag.
Dus stem nu (en ben lid van) Volt. Dat lidmaatschap ooit eens in een opwelling aangegaan, ben verder niet echt actief. Verder is Volt nog wat klein, sommige mensen vinden dat zonde van je stem maar als we allemaal op de gevestigde kliek blijven stemmen veranderd die status quo ook niet.
