I had a similar training selling stuff for a remodeling company.
I quit on the second day of training. It felt gross, and I told them I was really uncomfortable with their tactics and that’s 100% why I was quitting..
I also don’t watch tv and go out of my way to avoid ads :) pihole on the network, Plex and physical media for media needs.
Hey candy land is difficult. I mean how can you play after you eat all the candies? Plus hospital tables aren’t ever big enough for the board!
So someone is sending these to CEOs, right?
Riiiight?
When I was young we averaged moving every 4.5 years, but for reasons, I got very accustomed to changing environments every year or so, and as an adult I’ve struggled to stay in one place for the clean start it offers, but moving is so expensive now, and I don’t like driving anywhere near enough to be a nomad van dweller type.
I can maybe do it one more time in the near future, assuming money and housing values don’t tank first, but that’s probably it for the rest of my days. I hope it really scratches the anxious itch for change, cuz if not..
Probably because a skeleton crew for one of those is an absolute shitload of people (Nimitz-class carriers have a standard compliment of 3,200, not including the air division, so pilots and mechanics and such).. and like sure you could probably get rid of some stuff and cut that in half, but it would still require a lot more staff than a super yacht (20-50 crew), including nuclear technicians/engineers and stuff which would probably be expensive.
Plus you’d be spending a ton to demilitarize and make the below-decks spaces comfortable, as that’s the vast majority of the ship. But in so doing, you may actually alter the ballast of the ship causing it to float higher and become unstable..
Why bother when you can get a status symbol custom made for you, you know?
This must be how Oscar Meyer wienermobiles are made. I mean I don’t see a buncar anywhere, but all the same.
I’d rather not have robot bees. I’ve seen hated in the nation (black mirror episode).
Yeah but then they wouldn’t be able to sell 1,000,000 copies for $65 with all the little plastic bits that will get lost as soon as the box opens and need to be replaced.
You clearly aren’t thinking enough about the shareholders.. For shame.
But I do agree. I like when breweries, cafes, and bars have board games, but it really sucks to have to go to a money-spend place to play them. I wonder if libraries have them, or would be willing to host a game day or something.

I think I might be going on a quest in middle earth..
He’s like that guy every woman in the friend group avoids and is like “no but for real he’s a creep and I don’t want to be around if he’s around”
And the us said “yeah but he’s always been cool with us, so you’ll just have to get over it”, and people in the know are like yeah, no.
My local pd sends someone out even if you tell them it was an accident.
This may only be for woman-type people, I don’t know, but the couple times I’ve accidentally called they always sent someone by to talk to me just to make sure I really don’t need them.
Kinda obnoxious, since I would be very unlikely to call the PD even if they were needed (only call the cops if you are ok with the possibility someone innocent will die), but I guess good on them for.. being proactive.. I guess.
On iOS, 5 quick presses doesn’t call emergency services, it reverts your phone to a pre-login state and gives you emergency options, so you can easily call 911, but it’s not required to use it.
This is super helpful to know if you have biometrics enabled. So cops can’t hold your phone in front of your face to unlock it if you do this.
Try it if you have iOS. 5 presses quick, you’ll feel a vibration to let you know it worked so you can do it from your pocket.
I used to think I was in the former camp but it turns out I’m in the latter!
And that realization is fucking powerful.
Fuck it, do something!
I’ve only used genAI once, to re-write my resume. (And I played with image generation to sort of see what it can do and be a muse for me because I’m aphantasic, but I was wiiiiiildly disappointed.)
It spit out something less good than what I fed into it, hallucinated a ton of skills and experience I don’t have, and it looked like AI slop when it was done. So a lose-lose.
Might be good for people who don’t know things or who can’t write for shit (so your average first year college student, IME) but.. honestly it’s garbage if you aren’t average or below already. So I’m not surprised it’s ruining people’s ability to function.
Ai is a tool for dumb people (sorry. not sorry.) to land good jobs that dumb people shouldn’t hold or be hiring for, and that’s about it.
As long as it’s functional.
But it needs to be a pit toilet.
I have zero faith in the horizon one, after they allowed a Lego game to be the third installment. What a bad decision, and this probably won’t be a better one..
Hopefully I’m wrong but.. I have a feeling I’m going to be wildly disappointed even with expecting to be disappointed..
What do battle passes even do? Is that the same thing as “season pass” things in other games (not that I know what those do either tbh)?
I never pay for, and thus don’t look at, any game stuff that’s not included, so I’m totally ootl on this one.
Hmm..
Well now I know exactly how I compare to all of these men in a very literal sort of way, since I’m apparently the exact same height as Kevin Hart. Tho I am a bit surprised that the first person I dated is the same height as the rock. He looks a lot bigger.
So that’s fun! Thanks for providing that info :)
Yeeting the rich sounds fun. Just have to be careful where you do it, like the punkin chukin competitions. You know, to prevent any damage to anything important.
Make it a sport, whomever (or maybe top 5) yeets their rich person the furthest wins 10% of their net worth, the rest is used for social programs.
When I was a kid and would send very stuffed letters, we just left a dollar paper clipped to it, they would leave the change the next day for heavier stuff.
When I was even younger I used to leave flowers in the mailbox for the mail person, and they got me a little flower statue for xmas and left it in the mailbox for me. That’s a memory I haven’t thought of in a long time so that was pleasant :)
