  • He may be a sucker but at least he is engaging with the topic. The sheer lack of curiosity toward so-called "artificial intelligence" here on hexbear is just as frustrating as any of the bazinga takes on

. No material analysis, no good faith discussion, no strategy to liberate these tools in service of the proletariat - just the occasional dunk post and an endless stream of the same snide remarks from the usuals.

The hexbear party line toward LLMs and similar technologies is straight up reactionary. If we don't look for ways to utilize, subvert and counter these technologies while they're still in their infancy then these dorks are going to be the only ones who know how to use them. And if we don't interact with the underlying philosophical questions concerning sentience and consciousness, those same dorks will also have control of the narrative.

Are we just content to hand over a new means of production and information warfare to the technophile neo-feudalists of Silicon Valley with zero resistance? Yes, apparently, and it is so much more disappointing than seeing the target demographic of a marketing stunt buy into that marketing stunt.

  • If you never think there's no room for the gay thoughts.

  • All dogs are small enough to pick up with one hand if you've got really big hands.

  • Cool cool cool, my boss just issued an edict that we all have to go back to the office though so good fucking luck with the remote work.

  • I have to admit that I underestimated this woman. When our brief moment in the zeitgeist ended, I expected her to move on like the rest of our so-called celebrity allies did. I hope she runs for president.

  • I can answer that no, I do not. The words just kind of come out as I type.

  • The media amplifies and sensationalizes random violence, creating a continuous stream of small and impersonal traumas in its largely suburbanite audience. They understand their complicity in the violence on a subconscious level, but cognitive dissonance prevents them from accepting this on a conscious level. This creates a feedback loop where they repeatedly seek out content to retraumatize themselves in an effort to regain control of their place in these narratives.

But yeah it's mostly some white people shit.

  • We have found evidence that a foreign operative known only as "The Colonel" was running an illegal enterprise out of these tunnels.

  • My dad thinks all Muslims look like one of those post-9/11 caricatures from the Bush-era newspapers and even he is like "yeah that's fucked."

  • The best Zelda games leave the details intentionally vague so that the player can fill them in based on the weird side quests and cryptic hints to the past woven into the environments. I'm sure someone could find a creative way to capture the emotional journey on film but I am equally sure it will not happen.

  • We should arm the whales.

  • I get why he likes it. The bridge is a delicate body of wire cable musculature and iron bones born from a nation's collective struggle. It is held together by a tension that connects the people to earth, to the waters and to the sky, all with golden ratio arcs that align perfectly with the curvature of the mountains in the backdrop.

The young Xi Jinping leans on a fence in the foreground, illuminated by the faint glow of the foliage. The fence provides him with support while firmly placing him on the same side as the people observing the bridge in the background. The wooden fence is solid, firm and simple in contrast to the majestic feat of engineering that demands your focus, but it forms the foundation of his connection with the people.

Standing slightly slouched with his hands behind his back, Xi's crown is perfectly balanced at the central tension point of the image. His face sits at the exact place where two lands meet in the middle of the bridge. All the lines in the photograph extend through this point, forming the final place of connection between Xi, the people, the lands and the labor.

  • I very much appreciate you explaining the cultural implications. I would not have picked up on that but it seems obvious when you lay it out.

  • The problem is how repetitive the not fun parts are. People shit on Marble Zone but at least it had some interesting variety in obstacles to make up for the slow parts. Labyrinth Zone just sucks.

Really? You're calling me now? After what my dad's testicles went through in Iraq? My father got his dick blown off by an IED so that you wouldn't have to.

  • McDonalds employee:

I'm sorry sir but we don't carry Frosties. That's Wendys. I can get you a McFlurry instead?

    Me:

You mean my dad got his balls mangled and stomped on and tied in a knot like a Christmas bow for nothing?
