  • The “magic law” is just the consequence of what it means to be the “same” person. To be the same person, you have to, among other similarities, take up the same spatial-temporal space. This is why if we ask “is Bruce Wayne the same person as Batman” one of the first thoughts is “you know, I’ve never seen them in the same room before.”

Maybe what you’re getting hung up on here is the split. Let’s imagine there is one river (river A) which goes for a bit before it forks and becomes river b and river c. In some sense, we could say that both river b and river c are river a. But if you’re river b, then river c is not the same as you, and vice versa.

  • God the insanity of that wealth is hard to fathom.

Nobody needs $100m, which is itself a totally insignificant amount compared to $1b… and we’re talking people with hundreds of billions :/

  • Me petting a cow: “wow haha, it’s almost like I’m touching a giant squishy eyeball.”

Cow: “I am just a normal cow.”

Me: “you are just a normal cow.”

Cow: “good, now walk away and tell nobody this happened.”

    So cooky, those cows!

  • Apologies if I'm missing it, but it looks like the claim isn't specific to men in same-sex marriages.

"Individual gay men earn 10% more than straight men with similar education, experience and job profiles,[2][3] and individual gay men who are married have a significantly higher median income than heterosexual married men.[4]"

I read this as unmarried gay men make 10% more than unmarried straight men, and the number is even higher than 10% for those who are married.

  • Hey there team members!

I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. Now that you’re back in the office, I’m sure some you are picking up on the new “buzz” around town. I bet some of you can’t even “bee-lieve” it!

Yasss queen, using some of our pizza party budget, we’ve installed all natural honey dispensers into everybody’s desk! But remember to “beehive” yourself and not take too much, so as to not upset our flying friends (Darrell, we’re all wishing you a speedy recovery!).

Anyway, that’s enough “droning” on from me.

    Bee seeing you! -hr

  • Human’s shield proficiency is pretty dang good on a whole bunch of classes that can’t use shield (at least until you get high enough level to multi class 1 in fighter for both heavy armor and shield).

  • I am sad to report that this is apparently 180 individually wrapped packages that’s shelf stable for 20 years. It was listed under the survivalist category of Costco’s website (but seems to have since been removed).

If only it were a bucket of hot sloppy mac.

  • I’ve been seeing this sort of thing in a few threads now since the federation and im a bit confused by it. Showing that China is doing similar things to the US doesn’t seem like a strong argument if the thing the US is doing (in this case indefinite detention without trial in a horrible prison) is bad. Is the idea that post-federation there’s users who don’t view the US as doing bad things?
