its why their main benefit is cost and safety. for power storage in a standing field or wall density isnt as important compared to for mobile usages (EVs) so sodium based batteries make more sense.
iirc the dev claims its more useful for firefox mobile.
basically it goes over the whole process in general, and each country enforces and has laws of various degress on it. For example, with console dumping and flashcarts int he US are deemed illegal. Nintendo has already sucessfully shut down some stores that offer modding services without even necessarily offering up the illegal goods. Flash cart companies online already go through lengths in order to help the customer "avoid customs" as flash carts legally speaking, aren't legal to buy in the U.S, and normally is supposed to be confiscated at the border. Not all agents are aware of it though as it's not as strictly enforced and known like drugs or weapons would be.
It's a field where not many want to challenge said law.
format shifting is not a globally recognized right, again, goes back into the situation where the laws vary globally
some people vote by emotion which I don't mind downvotes by any means, as long as theyre aware that thats kinda what reality is. Im pro dumping and extremely pro emulation, but im not gonna sit here and say that circumventing drm is legal in every country in the world.
dunping games is drm breaking, and depends on which country you live in on whether its legal or not.
its functionality put into the app. its a feature not a part of the control panel nor gfe and only the new app. it requires the app because its also not a binary function. it gives the user a sliding scale to adjust the debanding intensity of HDR, as its Nvidias own implementation of what is essentially auto HDR.
i mean there are features that the apps have to enhance the experience. especially this patch is the one that enables Nvidia RTX HDR for multi monitor setups (which gives a better HDR experiemce than Windows implementation of it).
if you only need a driver, sure you dont need the app, but just because you dont use all the features doesnt mean its completely bloatware/no real advantage. (and Im saying this from the POV that geforce experience was overly bloated).
the problem on the Nvidia front is that vram capacities are hitting the midrange gpus to the point that they may actually lose said features. in particular with the 4070 ti and slower, vram usage gets to the point where the user may not be able to use all features and half to selectively use them because each feature has their own vram cost attached to it.
outside of the 4060 ti 16gb you have to spend 800 to get the 4070 ti super to get 16gb vram
its not unheard of physical stores in japan to do things like this. during covid for example, there was a gunpla shortage, so to mess with scalpers, anyone buying a kit in some stores had to immediately open the box, one of the runner bags and use nippers to cut a part of the runner. This prevented scalpers from being able to sell a scalped kit as "brand new" as its now opened and cut into, killing a chunk of their profits.
AOE2DE is the 72 most played game on steam currently in reference to RTS, its much higher than several other games.
id imagine its heart disease, and malaria
theres definitely people in there for the long haul, but most people are just job hoppers jumping onto companies paying more till they land into one with the perfect work/life balance for their preferences. Part of the reason why unionization int he programming sector is hard, because most of the people already willingly leave jobs for higher paying ones.
its not a trademark issue, its mechanics. some people suggest its the ball catching system, some of the mounted actions or monster storage system.
not advocating for all IoT products, but some fridges have internal cameras (allows you i remotely access and figure out what you have and dont have), and some also have product expiring tracking so that it can warn you if something is approaching thr best buy date so you can use it up soon or throw it away.
washer and dryer IoT projects to me tend to be pretty terrible.
FAANG looks good on the resume so people go there with intention to eventually leave for another company willing to pay for FAANG experience. unless you work in a very focused team (e. g Occulus) youre better off jumping companies for higher pay.
if you go to tech career fairs, especially in the silicon valley, the biggest example of this is working for Cisco. they have huge turnover and youre only going to work there to have Cisco on your resume because of how ubiquitous they are at networking for companies.
its not exactly for the positive reason you think. theyre trying to prevent the class action lawsuit going around the (UK?) right now and realized when a certain amount of people take the arbitration, it gets fairly costly, so they reverted on that clause.
regardless fuck arbitration, its like paying off judges but even more transparent about it.
its basically doing the right thing for the wrong reason (reverting arbitration cause not for thr consumer, but for their wallets)
shifted away from being more anarchistic in nature to authoritarian. its going to see the split between libertarians (who are more anarchistic) and religious fundamentalists (who are more authoritarian)
anythings capable of it, but the companies behind the (premium) boxes have less of an incentive. While theyre all capable, its a matter if you have trust in them. At least for the Shield TV for example, go download a shield tv rom if you really don't trust Nvidia. If you are paranoid that they all can do it, than any smart device can do it because its connected to the internet.
this is why you get a separate apple tv/android box and not connect your tv to the internet
