  • Somehow I've gone my entire life not knowing this monstrosity existed and is actually canon. Now I have to look for it in my current rewatch of DS9 when I get to the Dominion War.

I'm completely torn on it. It looks hideous but it makes sense as to why it exists. Like everyone else, I also thought it was too convenient that Voyager's appearance didn't change as it tried to return home, getting damaged by enemies or having bits simply wearing out and needing replacement without the luxury of Federation starbases around.

  • A-freaking-men. Orville held down the camp while Discovery was busy doing whatever it was trying to do, spitting out endless melodrama, crises, and crying. I definitely enjoyed some Orville episodes but the show as a whole just felt like a pale imitation of Star Trek. No doubt MacFarlane can write/produce a good Trek-style episode but I'm not convinced he can run a whole Star Trek show.

I love SNW and Lower Decks. Between those shows and Prodigy (which goes weirdly dark at times for a show aimed at kids), I won't miss Orville if the third season was its final one.

  • I spent more than $20 on a pizza the other day. Considering the many hundreds, if not thousands of hours, I used Sync for Reddit over 5 or 6 years, $20 is a no brainer. That said, I wouldn't pay the $100 lifetime considering because I don't need the perks associated with it and who knows if Lemmy will be around that long (I hope it will but you never know).

  • If I'm not mistaken Sync's dev is a relatively young guy (I recall reading he was a student a few years back) which likely means he hasn't experienced the joys of vision going downhill with age like many of us old farts have.

  • I didn't think they'd skip the opportunity to give us singing Klingons but the end result was just...wow. chef's kiss

I absolutely love Pike's "exasperated" face. It's possibly a bit overused this season but it cracks me up every single time because it's how I'd probably react if I were in his shoes and it's so unlike how the previous Starfleet ship captains would react, even when the situation fully merited it.

  • I don't understand the "slowly" part at all. I joined Lemmy about a month ago when Reddit third party apps went dark. Lemmy was largely a ghost town then, with most of the relatively mainstream communities I sought out having newest posts that were days or even weeks old. That desolation was gone after the first few days, with a ton more engagement from others who migrated over and a steady stream of new content. The communities I frequent have grown by leaps and bounds since then. "Slow" isn't a word I'd use to describe Lemmy's growth.

  • I moved into my condo in 2010. The bathroom includes a vanity mirror with 6 incandescent bulbs over it. I only have 3 on at any given time since all 6 on at the same time is annoyingly bright. I want to replace them but it seems wasteful to chuck them in the garbage when they still work.
