You can turn federation on and off (and adjust some other fun toggles) directly from ACP > Settings > Federation (ActivityPub).

Last season was great, and loved the extra long episodes leading to the end.
any idea how much disk space it costs to join this? like if you have an empty instance, does it add more than 1GB per month?
I think even just a frontend (web UI or mobile app) could fix this pretty easily
when it loads a page with many posts from the same community, it only shows 1 or 2 and puts the rest in a queue to show on later pages

well it wouldn't really play out like that, if Lemmy gets overtaken by a replacement (like Mbin, Piefed, or Sublinks), it would be a transition not a death
a big thing we can look forwards to right now is if Pixelfed gets better support to interact with Lemmy/etc communities/groups then we can get a big boost in userbase, even if they aren't using the Lemmy software we'll still be seeing their posts and comments
I wish Mastodon would improve their compatibility with Lemmy too, but they don't seem interested

I was wondering how a 14nm chip would have 30 billion transistors lol, it would have to be a full wafer-sized chip (which has been done but I don't think it's been done on such old nodes)
I just don't think bash is good for maintaining the code, debugging, growing the code over time, adding automated tests, or exception handling
DLSS frame generation has access to motion vectors and the Z-buffer from the game engine, so it's way more advanced than what can be done for videos/movies

It sounds like the DLSS updates are controlled by the driver now, so old games will immediately be using the new DLSS updates
Shenmue is a fun run so far, nice comfy late night vibes too
warning that the cited performance improvements in the title are using the new Multi Frame Generation
still seems like a decent improvement in performance per dollar anyways, and the new MFG might be good too and it has improved frame pacing

'Quake done Quickest 2' (QdQst2) is a segmented run that completes Quake on Nightmare difficulty as fast as possible, disregarding kills and secrets on all maps. The run is a major overhaul of the Quake done Quickest run from 2011. The run time is 10:20, which is an improvement of 69 seconds. Each level was recorded in one segment - played over and over again for hours, days, weeks, even months - and then pieced together to create this run. The project was setup in early 2022 and segments were grinded over a span of 2 years by many different runners. With the insane level of execution and optimization of modern-day Quake speedrunning the next generation of runners managed to go even quicker than "Quickest".
It's been an awesome experience, and we're very happy to finally release QdQst2 exactly 13 years after the release of QdQst! Hope you enjoy!
