  • I guess they are finally going to put it out to pasture. Maybe it can catch on fire one more time during the transit, for old times sake.

  • Yeah, Heroic is the way to play GOG games in Linux.

Though I have not tried it in VR, I have no reason to think that would present an issue here.

  • Yeah, I'm just going to wait and see. If it's good, I'll buy it, otherwise I won't.

  • From this article:

the FTC had failed to follow correct procedures and conduct an analysis before issuing the rule

The FTC is free to issue this again. They need to do it in accordance with the law next time.

  • Don't finance DLC purchases. If you are that bad off for money, you need to just play the games you already own.

  • The united snakes doing what they always done

Yeah, how dare the pentagon buy arms with money they were given by Congress. Damn snakes they are!

  • Yeah, this is a bridge too far. If they try to enforce this, shit is going to hit the fan for them.

That said, I have no intention of giving them money in the first place. The sheer hubris of this policy...

  • Yeah, I'm confused on what else the Pentagon would be spending money on.

  • The court ruled specifically on the stay. The case itself is still before lower courts.

  • Yeah, this is what's primarily happening. A third-party imports the chips to a random country for [perfectly valid use], then resells them to Russia at a markup. It's one of the reasons you see more and more sanctions packages. Some of those are sanctioning perpetrators of industrial level sanctions evasion as described here.

And while you can never stop it, driving up the price and reducing supply to Russia is helpful. Particularly when paired with lethal aid to Ukraine.

  • But will it continue to be your last post in the future? Or is it simply your last post at this moment?

  • The whiplash with Trump is awful. It's a bit easier if you zoom out a bit, it is clear he is significantly less pro-Ukraine than Biden. But I think even Trump can't decide if he is pro-Putin or not. I think part of it is Putin simply doesn't want to kiss the ring, while Zelensky holds his ground, but does what is necessary to save his country and people.

  • My take: a person made a cool product, wants to make more but doesn't have more actionable ideas. And, due to this only making some money on the side, an off-the-shelf storefront was chosen that supports selling more than one thing.

  • I found if the pot makes solid contact with the electric elements the electric can actually heat up water faster than gas. But if the bottom of your pan isn't flat or the element is warped, they are really, really, really slow.

My experience has been with gas (fast), electric resistive with exposed and warped elements (slow), electric resistive with a glass top (fastest).

  • If it gets more people buying them, yeah, will absolutely increase the economies of scale and push down prices. Though that will likely take a bit. That said, the $200 tax is already gone, so that has already dropped the final price with taxes.

Seems the silencer shops haven’t updated.

Probably something you can fix in-person at the shop. Most gun stores aren't super speedy with updating their POS software.

  • Yep, but not necessarily even that much. Releasing the server software as a compiled binary would fit the bill as well.

  • How I read this: 'This legislation would make putting lead sweetener in wine very difficult'
