  • So what about the countries that are the VICTIMS of those crimes? Why aren't the on the ledger? Because if you include them suddenly it's not "every other nation", is it? But they don't count, because they're brown and you don't believe they count as people.

  • Bush jr knowingly started a war on false pretences that killed a MILLION people. One million human lives ended on the basis of lies that he knew full and well were lies. Please enlighten me on exactly what trump - disgusting as he is - has done that outweighs the deaths of a million human beings.

Spoiler: the answer is nothing, but you think the nothing is worse because Bush's victims were brown so they don't count as people to you.

  • America isn't blameless, but come on, Israel and Russia have been throwing around a lot more bombs than America.

America dropped more bombs on Laos alone than were dropped in the entirety of WWII, and they weren't even formally at war with Laos.

No, America has been throwing around more bombs than the rest of the world combined.

  • Hezbear has a much larger non-american base than most of the English language internet from what I've seen. If you tell me there are condos for sale at Disney I'd believe it, I'm in my 40s and live on the other side of the planet, why the fuck would I know the ins and outs of fucking Disneyworld?

  • Kelly's anti-polyamory one? Narrative incoherence. It requires little parents crying faces for polyamory to be bad.

Wait, Stan Kelly? That's literally the joke. He's the cartoonist for the onion, it's a parody of shitty conservative political cartoons.

  • Honestly? I worked in an office setting (as a drafter) for like... Eleven, twelve years? Before covid hit, anyway. My experience with "work" from home has actually been study, I left engineering/design to do my BSc, and I really struggle to get any serious work done (on my honours thesis, now) at home. Also, it's not just that I find wfh distracting, I also hate having my work - including this work, on something I find genuinely fascinating - intrude into my home. I think it just further upsets work/life balance.

  • It's just bizarre to me. Even the least wealthy politicians at that level have more than enough to afford to retire (see Bernie and Jane Sanders owning multiple homes despite his being one of, if not the, least wealthy senators) so why stick around? There are very few jobs I can imagine wanting to do until the day I die. Do they actually believe they're achieving something unique? Because that's just... Weird. They're so nakedly acting in their own class interest, and anyone (of that class) could be doing that. Why not retire and let someone else ensure those interests? It's not like there's no one to take over.
