Amad injury update
Our young winger is set to miss the first part of the Premier League season.
Manchester United winger Amad will miss the first part of the Premier League season.
The 21-year-old sustained a knee injury during the tour of the United States that is going to keep him out of action.
It is a blow to the youngster's hopes of making his mark, after being involved in the earlier stages of our pre-season campaign.
Amad is, of course, sidelined for this weekend's double-header against Lens at Old Trafford and Athletic Club in Dublin, with both games live on MUTV.
The Ivory Coast international scored in the game against Rayo Vallecano in 2022 when we also had back-to-back friendlies on a Saturday and Sunday.
Unfortunately, he has also been ruled out of the first part of the 2023/24 campaign, and we await further details on his estimated recovery date, with the home league clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers up first for Erik ten Hag's Reds on Monday 14 August.
Amad enjoyed an excellent season on loan at Sunderland last term, top scoring in the league with 13 goal

The club is proud of Charlie's journey so far and his move to play in League One gives the midfielder a chance to continue his development in a new environment, in a competitive division.
He posted an emotional farewell to United, the club he joined as a five-year-old, on his Twitter account on Saturday afternoon.
Savage joined the Reds as a youth player aged just nine and has been with the United Academy ever since.
He signed his first professional deal with the club in 2021 and was handed his senior debut for the Reds on 8 December the same year, coming on as a substitute in a UEFA Champions League match against Young Boys.
Last season, Charlie made 17 appearances for United's Under-21s, in Premie
