Update on Path of Exile 1

We announced last week some unfortunate news regarding the timeline for 3.26.0 for Path of Exile 1. Coming out of that we have adjusted some of our internal resources to be able to provide you with some content to fill the time until that expansion arrives.

To start with we'll be running a one-month event that has some of our whacky ideas that never quite made it off the brainstorm board.

What does Path of Exile 1 look like when the nineteen Ascendancy Classes you know and are familiar with are all of a sudden replaced by a different nineteen? What does Path of Exile 1 look like when you get to play a Witch and ascend to become a Harbinger? These are the questions our design team asked each other and in this event will provide you with some of our answers.

The ongoing Settlers of Kalguur expansion in Path of Exile 1 was launched in July 2024. Since the release of Path of Exile 2 in Early Access, our players have been asking about the future of Path of Exile 1 and the timeline for its next expansion. In this video Game Director Jonathan Rogers addresses the situation.

3.25.3c Patch Notes

• We have revised our Terms of Use due to the upcoming Early Access of Path of Exile 2.
• Simplified the process for linking accounts when you launch the game on a new platform.
• Fixed a bug where changing your Status Message could sometimes fail to save.

• This patch contains changes to our account system in order to support Path of Exile 1 and 2 sharing microtransactions, as well as Cross Play between all supported platforms in Path of Exile 2. You can find all the information on these changes in our recent news post.
• To ensure these changes go smoothly, Path of Exile will be unavailable for an extended period of time. We're expecting this process to take around 4 hours. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate your patience in this matter.

In order to support Path of Exile 1 and 2 sharing microtransactions as well as Cross Play between all supported platforms in Path of Exile 2, we have had to make some changes to our account system. Here are the changes you can expect with the patch in a few days.

This patch has been rolled back due to an issue we encountered bringing the realm up after the migration process had completed. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Our Senior Narrative Designer, Matt, has taken a moment to reflect on writing for the Settlers of Kalguur League. Here are his thoughts.

Designing the narrative context for the Settlers of Kalguur league was an interesting project. This may be the most 'integrated' a new piece of content has ever been—we know most of the characters already, and anyone who's seen Path of Exile 2 might have noticed players running around Kingsmarch twenty years in the future. This is both an expansion on existing lore, and set up for future stories. With some leagues, the narrative must carve into the unknown, but with this one, I was making a puzzle piece that had to fit exactly on all sides.

There's a tension inherent in the story of the Kalguurans we've met. Ostensibly, they're here to excavate and trade, but there's always been a nervous energy about certain topics. With Settlers, I was able to explore that more organic
