This is some bullshit and should signal to dem voters that dems don't have your backs. Dems are centrists, not Leftists. They server corporate power rather than workers. Push the party Left.
There’s a lot of frustrating things about this, but what sticks out to me most is that the State does not have the infrastructure to support this.
Offices, parking, public transit, none of this stuff has appreciably grown or improved since COVID, but the workforce has grown. In many cases, offices have been decommissioned. These workers literally have no office to return to.
We are dealing with that now.
At office, one of the higher ups wants everyone to go back to office, but there is no more buildings to house us. And they are expecting less funds this year. They would need to remove about 1/2 the workforce in order for us all to make it into buildings. Im floating the idea that we re-define what an "in person office" is so that both workers and higher ups get what they want ;)
It may lead to layoffs in the future to be honest. That would suck but they cant deal with the work right now as is. Layoffs would be seen as a huge step back in their plans.
Layoffs are absolutely the end-game. The US economy is in a bad state at the moment, and the state is running a deficit. Just like the crap the feds are pulling, this is a way of indirectly reducing the state workforce by deteriorating working conditions in hopes that people will quit. CA has already swept vacant positions to prevent taking on future cost. If not enough people quit, eliminating filled positions is likely the next step.
You should be working to support more people working from home instead of the opposite. It is less expensive and better for the environment.
Isn’t Newsom known for being cozy with real estate developers? Probably has an influence.
He closed breweries and wineries during COVID. Conveniently his winery was in a county with an exception. There is more to it according to Snopes, but it highlights the shit side of politics on the US and the very clear conflicts of interest.

The Sacramento bee published something that gives the benefit of the doubt due to some trust he setup his assets under, but I personally find those hard to believe when career politicians always seem to get exponentially richer when compared with the rest of the population.
Assuming we have elections, I hope to Christ that this homeless people’s possession destroying mother fucker doesn’t run. Having him be president would just be fucking horrible.
And we’d have to fucking vote for his smarmy ass, because the other guy will be running on a platform of disallowing women to have bank accounts and gassing all the immigrants.

Reminder that the mayor for LA is pushing for anti-masking laws, despite it only actively hurts the disabled, and doesn't stop the protestors. They just want to arrest the disabled and resisters for more slave labor.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it’s time to recall Newsom. This is dangerous, incompetent, self-destructive, and actively harmful to the state, especially in the current political climate.
