- If you think he is out there, check out this little Oriental Bay Owl. He looks out of this world!
  He's high on my list of 250+ favorite owls! Nothing else looks like it.
  
  First look at that picture, I thought it was wearing a dark green beret.

Sexual selection implies that these owls find tree bark sexy on some level

  It also lets them get some beauty rest during the day, just making them even better looking.

Such a good photo, it took TWO photographers to make it.
- I'm glad someone picked up on that! I thought it was cute they shared credit.
  Was it one to spot, one to get the pic? One is the photographer and the other does the Lightroom? Somebody holds the camera and the other works the shutter? One makes cutesy noises to get it to look at the camera?
  So many possibilities!

Came here for the strange looking owl, stayed because of great Op comebacks.
- This owl was really a surprise hit. I never expected this one to be so popular.
  The pics are really just to entice you in here to have a good time. I do talk a ton about owls, but I try to tell you weird stuff that you would have never guessed, and otherwise it's just a few of us throwing nerdy references, puns, dad jokes, and esoteric thoughts back and forth.
  I am glad you enjoyed what you found, and I hope you become a regular. I try to talk to everyone that shows up and takes the time to leave a comment.

This one is scary.
- I was going to say this is just him in alert mode, trying to pretend to be a branch. The plan was to show you some pictures of Eurasian Scopses being fluffy and happy, but it seems they always look pretty mad. They do get less creepy looking though... sorta... 😅
  
  It does look a lot more chill in that second to last one, where it’s not being held by its feet. Although then there’s the last one where it looks like a satanic wood chip.

Where are the owl?, why did you post a picture of tree bark on owl community
- Owls have muscular control over their feathers, so they can contour their overall shape to look more branch-like as in this picture, and they can even move the tiny feathers of their face to focus different soundwaves to their ears.
