  • There are a pair of twins I help take care of as a family friend of sorts. Coming from the perspective of complete outsiders to US politics, I remember we were watching the news about Musk. And being as young as they are, everything the news "says" I'm guessing goes over their head, leading them to absorb it almost all visually. And they saw Musk not dressed up and said something like "oh no, the teacher is going to make him in trouble" since their school has a school uniform (so has mine) and that this is what they associate dressing up with. I asked why they didn't say this about Zelensky, and they said they thought he was like "a dad coming to a meeting" (again not verbatim). So kids pick things up.

With all due respect to all sides, for all the people who complain about "woke people making a fuss about silly things", the fuss about Zelensky not wearing a suit while Musk isn't wearing one either feels like exactly that in comparison, a fuss made by people who complain about others making a fuss no less.

Oh, and if anyone was wondering, I'm not UM.
