Serious answer: they have an on and off event called depressing comics week, we're instead of telling jokes with dark humor, they just create dark scenarios that aren't funny at all.
Why? It is done intentionally to see if they can successfully create scenarios that make people sad. Which is all things considered actually a healthy exercise for someone who regularly engages in dark comedy to do. Helps them remember where the line needs to be kept in order to keep things funny.
I went to therapy, they basically told me: toughen up buttercup, here’s the bill.
FYI "toughen up buttercup" is a term of bullying and abuse. It is often used to dismiss and belittle someone's feelings, and to tell them to stop complaining or feeling sorry for themselves. This can be especially harmful if the person is already feeling vulnerable or insecure.
Ugh. Took my kids to their school for schedule meet and greet. Saw kids who looked like the ones who bullied me when I was their age and all the emotions and memories came flooding back. These are kids 1/3rd my age and strangers, they have no power over me and yet I felt messed up.
