This reminds me of a very extensive story I read about a truly awful for-profit facility called the Élan School. It was a long and harrowing read and it was pretty much too fucked up to be fake.
That was probably way worse than what's going on here, but reading about Elan made me realize that "wow there need to be a LOT of super strict checks on what we let people do with our children"
Yeah, it's fuckin wild too, I personally feel that more people should know about Elan, but it's sort of so insane that people just kind of mentally punch out immediately if you try to tell them about it because they don't believe something so awful could even happen as the author of the comic mentions. Absolutely fucked...
