The recently discovered RCE in Dark Souls 3 only affects PC according to Lance McDonald
The remote code execution exploit which has caused all Dark Souls game servers to be taken offline for PC players is in fact not possible to leverage on the PlayStation 4 version of Dark Souls 3. It's safe to assume it will also not be possible on console versions of Elden Ring.
He says:
The RCE exploit recently leveraged publicly in Dark Souls 3 is not able to be leveraged on PlayStation 4, 5, or Xbox consoles. Neither will the console versions of Elden Ring be able to be exploited. There is no vector to either trigger it or to gain elevated remote privileges.
Some people have been exhibiting paranoia that the exploit could mean more delays. I was already skeptical of such fears but this news from Lance is another good sign that the game will release on time.
